End Of Zoey Zane, Internet Star Who Led Secret Life

An 18-year-old Kansas student, Emily Sander, who went missing over the weekend is now believed to have lead a secret double life as an online star, Zoey Zane. A woman that looks curiously similar to missing 18-year-old Emily Sander was found on a Zoey Zane website (zoey-zane.com). The ZoeyZane.com website is down, as expected, and most of her pictures are being pulled off the Internet.

Nikki Watson, a close friend of Emily Sander, told reporters, "She enjoyed it. She is a young teenage girl and she wanted to be in the movies and enjoyed movies. She needed the extra money. Nobody in El Dorado knew besides her close friends." The two went to school together at Butler Community College.

Police involved in the investigation have acknowledged that they are aware of the website, but have so far refused to confirm whether or not Emily Sander is in fact "Zoey Zane." They would also not reveal whether the Zoey Zane website was at all connected to her disappearance.

According to Watson, Emily Sander had recently signed a contract for the site, and told her parents about it over Thanksgiving. She also said that she had told her boyfriend, and that they had broken up because he did not approve.

The website in question is registered to a Wichita, Kansas address, and was activated in April of 2007. Zoey Zane website has since been taken down, but a Google cache snapshot dated November 21 shows what the site looked like, as well as a few pictures of "Zoey Zane."
